I submitted an article yesterday using the upload wizard. The submission workflow is pretty opaque for us not-respected-enough-to-see-the-queue(s) people. I don't know who can see what, who has to approve what, etc.

My two specific questions are:

1) Can I see some sort of status to verify that the submission went through?

1a) Can I see if the zip file was formatted correctly? It wasn't clear where the html file should go relative to any downloadable content (e.g., the source)

1b) What is the next step I should expect and how many steps are there to public visibility? The "unedited" state and associated transitions aren't really clearly explained anywhere (is there a submission workflow page?).

- and -

2) At what point is possible or useful to submit a change? It's nothing important, but I missed some <code> tags on variable names in description text and they make the text much more readable.

I have some friends and clients who want to look it over when it's up (I asked for some specific feedback), so I'm trying to set some expectation before I tell them to check it out. If it's going to be a complicated process I will just post it on my blog while waiting.

Thanks!

I think it is better for you to ask this question in the Article Writing Forum[^]

You will have better chances of getting a reliable response.

Did you directly submit it as an unedited contribution? If so after 5 approvals, the article will become publicly visible. Even prior to that you yourself will be able to view/edit the article.

If you submitted it to them as a zip file, then you have to wait for one of the staff or volunteer editors to get to it. Usually they do it within 2-3 business days max (unless the article formatting is really bad).
