I am trying to install linux multiple kernel in a VMware.But the problem is i don,t have a cd/DVD ROM so is there any way to do this??

Solution 1

VMware virtual machines can boot from an ISO image file, so there is no need to have a physical CDROM drive.

Goto the vm settings and you will find the cdrom options.

well becouse it wasn't working for me i got a cd ROM and i inserted the linux-3.5.4 Cd.but nothing happend."it is just displaying operating system not found"
i am new to this adding a kernel in a vertual machine so
1. what sld i expect in my vertual machine?
2.Is there any mechanism in installing a kernel in VMware?
pls help me Mehdi ?

Right, but... on Linux, the kernel is easily re-installed or updated even without it, from HD. I don't remember where to read about it, but it wasn't a problem at all when I needed it.
