Creating a Boot Loader?

Hi, I am new to C and Linux.
I want to create a boot loader in C which would start my Ubuntu, but before starting Ubuntu it is supposed to write a few text line on the screen then start Ubuntu.
I don't know any thing about C, Boot loaders and Linux. I really need help. I have no idea about these things..
