How to restrict the sharepoint list column to accept only alphanumerice(without special character)

Hi All,

I created a sharepoint list with name student having 3 columns stuno of integer type, sname of single line text type and total marks of interger type.. The problem the sname field is accepting numberics and specials characters also.. How to restrict the shaerpoint column

1) to accept only alphabets

2) to accept alpha-numeric

3) to accept specifice special characters and alphabets

Solution 1

For number you can set the column type as Number. For custom validations you can create your own Types. Refer to this[^] for creating custom field type.

once you deploy this custom field type on your sharepoint server you can use that in your sharpoint list.
