cannot locate entry in sys databases for database name in sqlserver 2005

hii,
I'm trying to take backup for database in sqlserver 2005.While performing backup it shows an error as cannot locate entry in sys databases for database name test.mdf .Please help me out~~..its urgent.~~

Please post the code you use to create the backup.

And you see the database in sql management studio, and it is working as expected?
