Try this calculation: 8+2*4
It says the result is 40, but I'm sure that should be 16...

the result is right. the calculator will read it as:
(8+2)*4
you can even try it to your calculators at home.

The result is WRONG. I just tried it on my TI-83 and it displays 16 and not 40

Enter 81 then click on the "x^" button and enter ".5". The answer is 9 (correct).
Now click on the "x^" button again and enter ".5" again. The period is rejected and the answer is 59049, instead of 3.

I want a desk top calculator that can print its screen to a text file every time = is pressed or an operation is completed, just like a printing calculator would but i was to lazy to write my own calculator from scratch to do it. this will be a good base.

Your commentaries are not intelligent and must be deleted, you are impolite and stupid.
This article are useful to those ones that are learning vb.

Yes, maybe it is useful to some people. But I do also agree that it's maybe not on its right place on this site. Maybe, we need to try to say this gentil and don't talk about removing articles and/or reactions. Learn about them, don't remove them.

looking at your articles rates, i don't think you could judge that severly this article, because you don't seem to be able to right a good one by yourself...

VERY UNKIND OF YOU!!
I found this article very useful, since I had to incorporate a calculator into an application of mine, and I didn't want to reinvent the wheel.
The author was so kind to share his / her work with us, why do you have to be offensive?!
