Onward! 1.4: A command line alternitive.

A Command Line Alternitive

Sample Image - onward.png

Introduction

I play a game Called Doom II, it is a very old game that dates back to the old DOS days, thus, I work with a lot of command lines, which isn't so pleasent with Windows XP. Yes, I do have Start | Run and Command Prompt, but I want something that will make this more pleasent. That's why I wrote Onward! It allows you to work with the command line, and provides features, such as:

  • Minimizing to the System Tray
  • Using .ini files (By cIni from Adam Woods)
  • A favorites system that allows you to load frequently used command line and file combinations

Points of Interest

I wrote this application to get me more used to C#, and this is an extremely good language for beginners and a good C/C++ primer.

History

In the future, I plan to use XML files to store last-used settings and favorites.
