Introduction
In this article, I will discuss how to work with Leads package in salesforce. Salesforce is available in 30 days trail version to evaluate the features, etc.
Before digging into this, first understand what is salesforce?

Salesforce is a CRM & Customer relationship management (CRM) is all about managing the relationships you have with your customers—including potential customers. CRM combines business processes, people, and technology to achieve this single goal: getting and keeping satisfied customers. It's an overall strategy to help you learn more about your customers and their behavior so you can develop stronger, lasting relationships that will benefit both you and your customers. It’s very hard to run a successful business without a strong focus on CRM. After all, it’s all about the customer.
Let’s start with a basic sample:
- Open URL: http://salesforce.com.
- Now click on Free trial to evaluate trail version of it and register for the trial version.
- Then, you will receive an email in your account. So open it and click the confirm option. It then asks for a password, provide the password & click ok. After all, this sales force app is opened for you to work on as shown below:
- Salesforce has some in built packages or modules like SALES, MARKETING, CALL CENTER etc. & many more..
- To explore sales package, let's select SALES from the right corner and select Leads from menu:
- Now to enter leads for sales, you can directly do quick entry for this as shown below:
From the above screen:
- Section 1: allows creating leads
- Section 2: allows viewing reports
- Section 3: allows generating summary report with date range
- Section 4: allows to other tools
- Section 5: allows create / edit view list leads added into the system
- Section 1: Let's add lead using Quick create section:
- Before adding campaign text, make sure campaign already exists. The moment you create a lead, the lead data would be available as shown below:
- Click on Name from Recent Lead, this would show up below data:
- You can add event using Create New -> Event:
