I am facing a very strange issue while building RIA service projects. It throws
"Object reference not set to instance of object" error while building. I follow same steps as per your article but still facing this issue.
Sorry. The article was posted more than two years ago for the RIA Service with VS 2010 SP1. Setting up the service with VS 2012 and 2013 is somewhat different. There are not many documents regarding this task but I do see some posts or discussions on setting the RIA Service for VS 2012/2013 Silverlight or LightSwitch projects from Internet forums. I have focused on the full WCF Service and Web API lately and not had any chance to work on any RIA Service/Silverlight/LightSwitch applications. I also have no plan to update this article. I suggest that you search other available resources for troubleshooting your issue.
Thank you for such an excellent sample. I wanna know can we create WCF RIA Service Class Library on one PC and add its reference on another system through LAN in silverlight application that because( as the middle tier is reusable different modules are developed on different PC so how can i share my RIA Service Library on LAN or through Internet)?
What would be the approach if the methods on the server side service library were adorned with [RequiresAuthentication]? How would the server-side service calls be made aware of the forms authenticated user from the client?
At this step, to create Domain Service Class does not find the context, to generates the domain. Please review the steps from: Adding the Domain Service Class and Modifying the Configuration. What step was forgotten?
