Hi
is it possible to remove unneeded/obsolete entries from the Tags-ComboBox?
Best regards

Since the time spent on a task can be recorded by "Time spent",
I think to record the start time and the end time also can be done.
Hope to get this function,
so that ToDoList can be used as a task-based whole-day-dairy tool.

Do you mena the "Log-function"? If enabled, it logs the times when you have "Time spent", like "10:50-12:23".

I just wonder could it be used as a pomodoro tool.

Possibly using reminders, or I would need to add notifications to the task time-tracking...

Hi,
I use a hotkey tool called workbreak to accomplish this - it is integrated with tdl. You can read about it here:
http://www.autohotkey.com/board/topic/24524-work-break-timer-taskidea-logger-screencapture-v-300/#entry158761[^]
Sadly it seems to have fallen into a hole on the internet, but I will check later and see if I can find what I downloaded. I modified it somehow, and made an executable, but can't remember what exactly I did. Maybe someone else has the source on hand? If I find the original package perhaps we can load the source code up somewhere here (see thread for permission)?
Best wishes,
Tom

Hi Alex,
mugrrrr wrote: When chosen, a color is applied for the whole line (Gantt item, start, period, etc), for some colors the information becomes barely visible (see yellow item in Sample tasklist below). Isn't this an issue also for the tree and list views? How do you resolve it there?
mugrrrr wrote: Same here, when highlighted, a task selection distorts time period coloring I'll just remove the 'darkening' effect.
FWIW, it is important to me that all the views are as consistent as possible, so if I were to change the Gantt view I would also have to change all the others too.

True. Usually I don't abuse coloring the tasks , but regarding gantt chart visually it would be preferrable to keep task names, dates and other information smple (f.i. black) and period time squares - colored. Otherwise it may look like a Christmas tree I understand that it's not the same in terms of your work and I really appreciate your efforts but it's just a suggestion.
.dan.g. wrote: it is important to me that all the views are as consistent as possible
I'm completely with you on that, as I mentioned before, it's just a suggestion , but sometimes some nice GUI solutions are already there that is why I brought previous examples.

I changed from 6.6.7 to 6.7.DR4 and saw that there is a problem with the icons in task-bar when "Track time" is active:
- in Taskbar the icon changes to black
- in Systemtray the icon is grey (not disappeared).
When I stop "Track Time" the icons are OK again.
(But could be also a problem of my graphics.)

Confirmed - kind of.
Orange tick icon disappears from the top application bar (from next to the file name). It also disappears from in the system tray. A space remains for where it should be.
Everything else seems normal. Win XP SP3.

Could you send me a screenshot of the TDL and the relevant parts of the taskbar and notification area?
I can reproduce this.

What Windows edition are you using and what theme is active?
Perhaps just send me a screenshot of the TDL and the relevant parts of the taskbar and notification area.

New logo - going Metro?
Gantt
- Parent colouring options - very nice
- Gantt colour. Some of the colours I use for tasks are 'bright'. This works well with the text, but are quite confronting when used for the Gantt bars. Maybe this was why you darkened the parent colours originally? Would it be difficult to have an option to tone down the colours used for the Gantt bars? Ideally less saturated colours. Not really important - just a thought.
- With auto-calculate parent tasks off, the Gantt now shows the dates actually entered in the parent (if existing) as normal task bars. With it on, it shows the standard Gantt behaviour of replacing any entered values with the calculated ones (parent bars). This is nice and somewhat unique.
- I also love the way dates that aren't entered show a blank in the date fields, rather than the calculated value (as it does in the Tree view).
- It is probably intentional, but parent tasks don't take on their 'normal' (e.g. priority) colour when not represented a parents (i.e. calculate is off, and the bar appears as a normal task bar). This is probably good as it gives a visual cue that this isn't standard behaviour.
- Is it intentional that applying a filter in, say, tree view is not applied when you go into Gantt view? I need to reapply the filter when in Gantt view.
Thanks heaps for implementing this Dan. It is now very useable, and adds a new dimension to the application. If I was to be picky...
- Not a major for now, but it will be even better when you can change dates by dragging the Gantt bars.
- Cosmetically, I still think at some point you could change the month and quarter options to use the dual header arrangement, like days and weeks. The latter looks lovely.
List view selection after task removal
- Appears to be working beautifully. Thank you.
Preference for controlling auto-sorting restored
- Thanks
Not sure what the 5th and 8th items relate to. The rest seem to work as advertised.

zajchapp wrote: but it will be even better when you can change dates by dragging the Gantt bars. That's my intention in 6.8 once we've weeded out all the display bugs.

Currently I'm avoiding any 'unnecessary' drawing but I think that the improvements in DR5 will make this an unnecessary optimisation. Can you mock up a screenshot to show how you think the the other views would look?

Just noticed that List view now no longer sorts at all. Sorting is on, and multi-sort defined, but nothing happens. Single sort isn't working either.

The dropdown-list "Display" for filters and saved searches is very small, many strings are truncated. I think in earlier version the list was wider ...

The standard searches like "a) all tasks / c) done tasks" work fine, but all my user defined searches do nothing. And many other searches "F) G) H) ..)" are not displayed.

Yes i will try.
1. When i enter a word in the search box on the top menu bar, it highlights the taskbar where that word
is located in blue.
2. If that same word that i used in the search box is in the comments section, the word is not
highlighted
3. I think that it would be very useful if when you search for a word or phrase, it is highlighted in
all locations.
4. Lets say that the word is "Dan" short for Dan is the Man and i have this word in the taskbar as Dans
List. I also have the word Dan is the man and Dan knows what he is talking about in the Comments
section. When i do a search it should find and highlight all three Dan's in yellow.
P.S. I will send you a sample.
Thanks ..... Tamroy

A screenshot would be a great help.
ps. It's probably to reply to the original thread because I will get notified and it stops 'comments bloat'.

When I search for a word it highlights the task heading where the word is but it doesn't highligh the word if it is in the comments section. A very uuseful feature would be if all of the search words was highlighted no matter what section they were in.
When you log on to Code Project ToDoList page it highlights any new item in yellow. This would really work well if all of the search words were highlighted in yellow.
Thanks.... Tamroy
