The file sharing via the local network is a very useful feature for me, but a number of times the lock timed out on me and when I came back to work with the data I am typing away when I finally realize that none of it is entered because I am locked out.
For me, it would be very helpful if TD were to give me feedback via sound so that I realize sooner that I need to 'unlock' the data.
Could be trying to add a new (sub)task - anything.
If the app receives focus and characters, it typically means the user is trying to accomplish something, while being unawares that everything he does goes to the bit bucket
I am currently using TDL 6.5.10 (latest portable) but I crosschecked with 6.6.3, both behave the same:
I can assign a task to more users, then they get separated with comma.
But when I filter for users, I get these releavant tasks only when I use the exactly same filter, mean I have to filter for both users to get especially these tasks.
The same bahaviour for catgories and category-filters.
I would have expected that I get all tasks which have are allocated to that user, independent of the user is responsible for that task completely by himself or together with someone else.
Same for categories.
Sometimes tasks belong to more than one category, but when I am looking for tasks that belong to this category I want all tasks, indendent of the task also belongs to another category.
Is there anywhere a setting to achieve this behaviour?
Or something planned like this for the future?
I am using TDL in a small workgroup of 3 users where the tld-file is located on the NAS.
We have a recurring project structure for which I created a “template” structure within the ToDolist that kind of looks like this, also using different icons for the children:
Whenever I have to add an new customer or a new project to an existing customer I simply copy the required structure with drag&drop + [ctrl].
This works fine but it also copies the dates that I don’t want to be duplicated (e.g. creation date).
Now I learned that I can also export a defined structure and import it within an active list.
Pros: It only imports the attribute prior selected.
Cons: It does not export the icons (why?). Even inserting the string ICONINDEX=”28” in the corresponding position of the export file (tld) the icon was ignored by the import routine.
Did I miss something?
a) define attributes to take over when duplicate tasks (drag&drop), or
b) reset dates and times after duplication (option), or
c) make icons availible to export and import routine, or
d) allow user defined menue and submenue structures to choose via dropdown field and hotkeys simular to the export function (which is nice but it takes to many steps)
I hope to see one or the other suggestion in an upcoming release.
Greetings from Germany,
First of all, thanks for the great tool, the more I use it, the more I like it!
One feature that would be very useful for me is the concept of virtual tasks. By virtual tasks I mean being able to define a task and its subtasks in one todo list and having the possibility to have multiple views of that task (and its subtasks) in other todo lists. Any modification to the task in one view would be automatically reflected in the other views (since only one 'real' copy of the task exists).
I've found this post that describes the same concept but I haven't found a definitive response to it. Is this something that can be done?
Thanks in advance and feel free to ask if you need me to clarify the concept.
TDL 6.7 will provide task references, allowing a given task to be referenced multiple times in the _same_ tasklist but there are no current plans to extend this to support references to tasks in other tasklists.
I am looking forward to this. I have done some research regarding this, and now know that I am looking for 'effort based scheduling.' I think I can get something like I want with just a GANNT chart. Will the plugin be zoomable regarding the time allocated e.g. into the level of hours within a day / out to say a few months?
