If you’re new to the Amazon Mobile App SDK, it provides APIs, tools, and resources to leverage the features and services offered by Amazon.

This article is in the Product Showcase section for our sponsors at CodeProject. These articles are intended to provide you with information on products and services that we consider useful and of value to developers.

Amazon recently released a new tool to help you integrate Amazon APIs (like In-App Purchasing and Amazon GameCircle) into your Android apps. The Amazon Mobile App SDK Eclipse Plugin allows you to rapidly and reliably integrate Amazon APIs into your Android projects, speeding up development and cutting down project setup time. The plugin generates the appropriate config entries for the APIs that you select, then copies over the relevant API jar files. If desired, it also allows you to quickly undo API integration, without affecting the original state of your project.

If you’re new to the Amazon Mobile App SDK, it provides APIs, tools, and resources to leverage the features and services offered by Amazon. You can read through development best practices, implementation specifics, and reference materials that enable you to devote more time to creating great apps and less time worrying about implementation details.

The Amazon Mobile App SDK includes:

  • In-App Purchasing API – making it easy for you to offer digital content and subscriptions, such as in-game currency, expansion packs, upgrades, magazine issues, and more, for purchase within your apps. Within minutes, you can be up and running, ready to give millions of Amazon customers the ability to purchase digital content using their Amazon 1-Click settings.
  • Amazon GameCircle API – making achievements, leaderboards, and Whispersync services accessible, simple, and quick for developers to integrate, giving gamers a more seamless and entertaining in-game experience. A recent study shows that games that have GameCircle integrated monetize better than others, with 38% higher conversion rates and 33% more orders per customer.
  • Amazon Maps API – allows you to easily add interactive maps to your apps for most Kindle Fire tablets and delight users with custom overlays.

Once your app is ready for testing, Amazon has also made available Kindle Fire tablet emulators for you to easily test and iterate your app before submitting.
