# Learning Mathematic With Traditional Game 'Dakon' Indonesia

In this article we will describe application Dakon to learn mathematic that will embedded in Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 2

## Introduction

Dakon is a traditional game which is famous in Indonesia (such as Java and Sumatra). Dakon game is generally played by children as games everyday. Dakon game itself is known as a typical game to play the game using kecik seeds (brown beans). A Dakon board has 16 holes of which 14 small holes and 2 holes barn / house.

Playing dakon done by taking all the seeds contained in a small hole in want to spread the seeds per hole adjacent to the barn / house each and repeated the steps.

If on the last hole, the hole is still there it (the hole is not empty) then the player must continue the game by taking all the seeds contained in the hole. If the last seed is laying on an empty hole then the player can not move on, then turn the game switches to the opponent.

The game is considered complete when there is no more that can be taken (whole beans are there in a big hole / barns both players) and the winner is who gets the highest seed.

## Background

Dakon is a medium of learning mathematics to materials Least Common Multiple and Greatest Common Divisor. According to Piaget's theory, the characteristics of elementary school-age children are in the concrete operational stage. Means for teaching children in need are given concrete examples so that children can build self-concept.

In general, teachers are still using a theoretical approach to teach the material to students
Least Common Multiple and Greatest Common Divisor . Dakon through this number, then learning can Least Common Multiple and Greatest Common Divisor  and easy and fun.

## Using the code

We didn't write any code yet. This is just ours idea to make some application with HTML5 that can embedded in any platform such as Windows Mobile, Android or Iphone. With HTML5 as its programming language, this application can run in any browser that support HTML5.

## Points of Interest

The challenge is make the application as live as its originally game. Make the game that can give another user experience to play dakon as game and as medium of learning mathematic. With this application that embedded in Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 2 many Indonesian People especially children will use this application through this Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 2.
