The cPanel and WHM software package is an easy-to-use control panel
that gives web hosts, and the website owners they serve, the ability to
quickly and easily manage their servers and websites.
cPanel is a Unix based web hosting control panel
that provides a graphical interface and automation tools designed to
simplify the process of hosting a web site. cPanel utilizes a 3 tier
structure that provides capabilities for administrators, resellers, and
end-user website owners to control the various aspects of website and
server administration through a standard web browser.
Its application-based support includes Apache, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Perl, and BIND (DNS). Email based support includes POP3, IMAP, SMTP services. cPanel is commonly accessed on port 2082, with an SSL-secured server operating on port 2083
The reason for choosing an all in one windows 8 c-panel app is to try to improve web-developers, administrators with a simple but powerful app to manage there webservers configuration insted of using the always used cpanel, which is normally appeded at the end of the domain root, e.g., http://example.com/cpanel.
How it Works
The all in one Windows 8 cpanel would work cloud based ,where it would have a module installed in the users system ,and would require users domain ,username and password for the user to login ,just like normal ftp client ie file-zilla. The user will then be redirected to a cloud based windows 8 app which will a have c-panel configurations option eg domains ,emails ,auto-installer.
What is needed
Cause it would be cloud based i would recommend server proggramming language for the server side programming,id also recommend a data exchage intergarter eg JSON for easier data exchage. For the client side i would recommend using common windows script ie visula c to bring the windows 8 app interface
It also be required is all coppyrigth for usage of the c-panel from the c-panel group, Apache group and all stakeholders in hosting softwares.
