The Lenovo thinkpad tablet is an ideal platform for carry around classes. Why? it is portable, powerful, and easy to use. My goal with this idea is to emphasise all those traits and create an application made to the needs of today's student. So I have designed an application to complement a students needs fully. As a student myself I have trouble finding one platform that does it all. This is where Scholar comes in.
Platform & Category
Education (Tablet Platform)
Think globally, compile locally. Bridge cultures and coursework with an educational app for students and consumers alike. Re-imagine learning and the way we interact in and out of the classroom.
On start-up you will see the home area. Here you will see the main items that you will need to tackle during your day at school. The home screen acts as a quick summary and reminder. On the left we can see today's classes . On the right we have items that we need to do today below we see study strategy and plans that we are currently following. In the side panel we can navigate to the specific tools. As you can see, key needs are quickly met on this page

- Settings - launcher, gps, privacy , notification, user preferences
The Tablet Advantage
The Lenovo think-pad tablet is a step above other tablet options as it is a built in windows system. The tool doesn't attempt to recreate every office application, but rather use this tool to connect everything together and show off what windows can do to set itself apart from other systems. This way the student is easily connected to everything he/she needs through Scholar.
The application will use the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) in the C# language in a Model View View Model (MVVM) fashion. XAML for the view. Will use themed telerik controls to improve visual appeal,
Will be made mostly using Photoshop, Blend and Visual Studio
I currently have 5 years of programming experience and am eager to learn more. I've worked on android applications with focus on embedded systems. Most recently spent a work term working on a silverlight c# based application with strict patterns and requirements. What sets me apart is my attention and focus on pleasurable user experiences. I seek to take on ambitious projects as every challenge becomes a excellent learning experience.
