I don't think there is any way to access session variables across web applications. ASP.NET registers the session variables with the application so each application has it's own variables. I'm closing the Excel application using Excel.Quit(), but it still resides in the TaskManager, occupying 7000K+ memory. For each request, more such objects are created, and doesn't terminate. I tried to clear up the excel objects after closing them, but nothing seems to work. I used system.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReleaseComObject(<excelobject>) for this, but no use.
