We are currently using color coding and calendar overlays to achieve the following results:
1. Color Coded Events
2. View all the Event detail in each date of the calendar month.
3. Removed Sunday and Saturday
Issues we are receiving:
1. Fridays events are slim and you cannot read anything in the event date.
2. Any Event that has a week or even 2 -3 days of meetings, do not show up correctly on the calendar. So if I create and event for Tuesday to Wednesday the following week, it will not display it correctly because we removed Sunday and Saturday. Is there a way to resolve this issue?
Would your tool assist with these issues and what we are trying to achieve?
Code Project - Event Calendar Listing Web Part (SharePoint 2010)
There are two lists in my app that are joined by a lookup column. The parent list is named TransactionHeader and the child list is named TransactionItems. For every item in the TransactionHeader list there will be one or more related items in the TransactionItems list. What I'm trying to do is retrieve items from the TransactionItems list but join to the TransactionHeader list so that I can also retrieve related data.
This CAML always results in a 'Cannot complete this action' message being displayed.
A little more information in case it's important; after building the query I'm loading the TransactionItems list like so:

How will you set up a Platform for Testing SharePoint WebParts?
Set up a SharePoint Development Server when you want to debug. For testing you should use a Test Server Instance of your Farm server, but for WebParts a Test Webapplication would do the same. If you want to test all programming then a Test Server is to be recommended.
I would appreciate being pointed in the right direction if this is possible to run on a system that does not have SharePoint services installed.
First let me say I have very limited experience with SharePoint services other than using it as a table in MS Access.
My need is to pull data from an existing database and update a SharePoint list nightly. It will need to be either a Console app, Windows App or PowerShell script that can be scheduled to run from a job server nightly. The job server is a Windows 2008 server without SharePoint installed.
In my searching I have seen several references to using the Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell in PowerShell, but I can't seem to find that on my system. Similarly in C# console app I am unable to include the Microsoft.SharePoint.
I have built a quick solution in MS Access to update the list, but it requires a person to run the process.
I have a small problem. That's is by using SharePoint Server Object Model need to get the version wise document of a particular document in library. But I tried I got wrong output. Can ant one tell me about this issue.
A document library having 1 attachment and enabled versioning for that library. If the document is versioned like 1.0,2.0,2.1. Now want to read all versioned files one by one along with that particular version content and title. Any one suggest to reach out from this problem.
Just, go to library, select the correct document, from the ribbon (assumed it is SharePoint 2010/13) go to File/Item -> Version history -> click on the Date and time link, the file will be downloaded of that version.
Then you can review and do the modifications you want...
In SharePoint 2013 site settings for a Site I have made a Variation Label name as "en" as shown in image with red box. Now I want to change it to "en-us"
But according to my search I found out that through OOTB its not possible to change in any way. Can it be possible to change through any other way , powershell script or else ??
If yes please help me to sort out this thing.

I'm working on a project built in sharepoint 2010 enterprise. I have a discussion board, with 1 subject(default view) top tier and 1 Flat view.
Using conditional formating in default standard view, I've easily hidden reply column(with condition $thisNode/@ItemChildCount > '0') when needed. But It does not work in Flat view.
I have also created Threaded view. But so far I wasn't able to be succesful in Flat view and Threaded View.
In Flat View and Threaded view, no conditional formating(tried many condition on many html tag for testing) works. I don't know whether its a SharePoint bug, or there are any thing else which needed on particularly for Flat view or threaded view.
Requirement : Currently, I have a site which is developed in SharePoint Online 2013. Where we have a section for software, which are saved in a different server (FTP Sever). And we have added those FTP links in our page.
Example: which is hyper-linked with external FTP URL : ftp:///SoftwareName(it may be .zip, or .exe or any kind of setup file)
Whenever authorized person want to download the s/w, the user will be redirected to FTP.
We are facing slowness issue with our FTP server, so now we want to save those softwares in Azure Storage.
• Please guide me which azure storage will be suitable for us?
• How to upload software in Azure without writing a single line of code.
• Can we use the Azure Storage as FTP server, where we can save/upload/delete/update the software
• If user is logged in into SharePoint Online (Office 365), will Azure require the login again? while accessing/downloading the software, if we get all things(Azure and SharePoint Online) under one tenant.
• The software download page which is created in SharePoint Online, is accessible by few user or groups. Can same group of user have login access to Azure to download the software? is it possible ? I am by no way a developer but I do know how to get in and read modify code. I am struggling with the following:
I have added the 'items matching a tag' webpart and I have it displaying the results of queries exactly as I need it to BUT I want it so that when someone selects an item from the results list it renders within the same frame (webpart). The reason for this is exposure of intranet (source) data on the extranet (publishing).
I have three web applications deployed in SharePoint 2013:
I have several libraries on the intranet where I am exposing items that have been tagged to pages on the extranet by use of managed metadata and the 'items matching a tag' web part.
As stated, the items are showing up and functional on the extranet, I just need to embed them so they are not opening in clients and new windows exposing the intranet url (source). My initial thought was to load the results on-click in the same webpart or in the same page but if there is another way to do this I am all ears.
The content types range from SSRS reports to excel spreadsheets with pivot tables connecting to SSAS. Again, these are working from a functionality perspective I just need to know how to embed to eliminate exposure. You would think this would be an option since the whole idea behind using the source/publishing features is to expose data from one source to another and typically public.
I would greatly appreciate some assistance/direction.

I am building a sharepoint portal for providing services for customers.
the customer uses this portal to submit request that includes his data and his attachments. The attachments will be uploaded in a document library and the data will be saved in a sharepoint list.
the expected count of requests that will be provided yearly is 5000 requests, and every request includes 10 attachment files.
What is the best approach that I should use??
1- using SharePoint list for saving the requests in & using document library for saving the attachments.
2- using list & document library. and make folder for each year in the list and document library.
3- using database table for saving the data and using the document center in sharepoint for saving the attachments.
4- there are another approaches for this user requirements .

I've built a feature for our training department, which up until today has worked as intended. Today wrote some code in the feature activation that will add a new SharePoint group called 'Travel Plaza Managers' (Travel Plaza is a department within our organization that runs our gas stations).
On the feature activation I first run a function called 'checkForGroup', which checks to see if the group has already been created on the site. Here is the code for that group:

So, the first time I ran this, the activation ran fine, but when I went to see if the group had been created the group name wasn't there. Figured I may have done something like not actually deploy the current version of the feature, so I did another deploy from Visual Studio and got the message saying that the group name had already been used.
Did a debug on the feature activation and each time 'checkForGroup' returns 'False', but I still get the same message that the group name has already been used. I can't remove the group because it doesn't show up on the website, so what am I to do?
I'm looking for a working example that I can load into Visual Studio and connect to my Sharepoint server and enumerate through the subsites pages. For the last 6 hours I've been trying to figure out how to connect to the Sharepoint web services and do read only and have been failing and have literally made 0 progress. Something is wrong with my understanding
I need a generic working basic example so that I can use that as my baseline and build from that.
Sharepoint allows for the creation of a "wiki" page that mainly is an area to put files etc that people can collaborate on and all can see what is happening to the document. A wiki page is contained within the team site. Microsoft has a few good video's on sharepoint that instruct on these things.

HTTP Error Code 401 means: Authorization required. You have to enter your username and password somewhere (and perhaps use an authorization cookie obtained at that step then later when you request documents...).

We have SSRS report working fine in sharepoint integrated mode in Dev environment. Dev environment has SQL server 2008 R2 and Reporting services are configured in sharepoint integrated mode. I can see the Report server URL and Report manager URL in Reporting services configuration manager. Reporting services are configured using reporting services configuration manager in dev environment. Either browsing the report directly in browser or viewing the report using report viewer control in visual webpart works fine in dev environment.
Report does not work in staging. Staging environment has separate database server, sharepoint server and reporting services server. It has SQL server 2012. Reporting services is configured using Reporting services service application. I am unable to find the report server URL to use for report viewer control in visual webpart in sharepoint reporting services service application.
