I want to create a Sharepoint Stubbing using java api by, replacing the real files with a smaller file containing only the information necessary to retrieve the original file. Now the real file can be store anywhere and in any format as long it can be restored in a timely manner and unmodified.
Okay, I have no solution for that because in my eyes it makes no sense. Why should anyone want to do that.
You can store links in SharePoint to your document if it is hosted by a file archive system
You can store your document in SharePoint in the SP own file archive system.
You shouldn't host a file anywhere to load it via SharePoint, that's not what SharePoint is for, that would only slow down your system. You can't use the functionality for documentlibraries which make SharePoint worth using SharePoint.
This is one of my client Requirement. please help me on the same. This is very argent for me.
On the other Hand you should hint your customer at this problem. He is buying a transporter and says he wants to race in Formula One. Of course it might be possible but it's total waste of time and ressources.
My question at him would be: Why can't the files be hostet on SP? SharePoint is normaly made for that?!
My question is, can it be possible to host/deploy a sharepoint site in IIS server where we will deploy our asp.net sites usually.?
I'm not sure if I understood the question correctly.
SharePoint is always hostet on IIS server an if you have a domain you can set it up, to be used by SharePoint. You shouldn't use this domain to host SharePoint and other asp sites at the same time within the same subdomain.
Hi I have an InfoPath form I drop-down that says classcode # and one drop down that says Description. Basically when someone selections one of the class codes I would like the proper description to automatically pop up in the description box.
I've been online trying to find a solution but can't come up with anything. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions to get this done?
I have sharepoint 2013 web application and there are 3-4 webparts on every page in the same. It took lot of time to load and perform action on pages. It seems performance issue. Can anyone suggest what best we can do?
There are many problems which may cause performance lacks.
- The Server should have 24GB Ram +
- The Server should have 6 Cores +
- The Database Server should have 32GB Ram reserved for SharePoint Databases and 4 Cores +
- Perhaps you should turn off the distributed cache or reorganize it.
- There could be database issues, with the degree of parallel tasks. optimize it
These are only some of the issues. We perform audits for our customers which may take several hours or days for the complete analysis.
Turn on the developer dashboard to get the times used for every action. So you might get the cause for the lacks.
I have very little experience with SharePoint. I have searched the web and this site but am unable to find a post or article that doesn't seem very confusing and after trying allows me to get an asp.net application to run on the same host as my SharePoint server. I know SharePoint uses port 80 and have tried other ports for my asp.net application. I have also tried one article's suggestion of modifying the asp.net application's web.config but still no success. Can someone direct me to an article or instruct me on how this is done?
Audit Display- How to display number of views/downloads of any particular document in SharePoint 2013 ( the requirement is similar to code project site where we have no of views count/ download count to the right, giving all info of the particular blog)
