This is really really disappointing. All the hype about the league (on and off CP) and the stupid site does not work. Disgusting!
Probably this is the first time this had happened and it has ruined their credibility of being world's most "Premier League"
I remember the UI and user-friendliness was much better previous year. If you click on players history it brings some unknown abbreviations.
Its very cheapo this year.
You can have all the tools in the world but if you don't genuinely believe in yourself, it's useless.
If it starts working from say, the 5th or 6th match, maybe we can still play.
If it happens then I would play -as you mention IPL is not as good without it. However I can't see them doing it - where would they start from? how much notice would you get? How many transfers? I notice they have removed the link from the home page too.

What i don't understand is why they can't use the older versions with players updated.
What I saw of the new version, I didn't like it. Seemed over complicated. I understand we all feel like that each time they 'improve' these, but this one just seemed so different.
Global digital media company Migme Limited has entered a new strategic partnership with leading fantasy sports platform CricBattle Inc. to launch fantasy sports ahead of the 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket season.
For me, the site's nearly always down. Or so slow as to be unusable. Transfers also showed an effective date 1 day after the game I made the transfers for. This is a truly pathetic experience.
I suspect they have a very poor DB design that's incapable of handling the level of load they are receiving. Probably cheaped out and hired some barely-can-write-code under-grads in Bangalore to write the site.
