I think it's both. Our batsmen are really good at playing short quick knocks. So we are a better ODI and T20 team. But I think some of it is also a mind thing. Guys who were hitting 50s off 40 balls got completely clueless when they were expected to bat 100+ balls. As if they've never had to do that before. The one guy who could, Kohli, was badly out of touch.
Well In my opinion, its the change in format I think. When I was in College playing cricket,we used to play 25 overs and 50 overs format. 25 overs during early group stages and 50 overs in Semis and later.
In 25 overs, our thinking was that we will get to play only 10-15 balls for everyone and so we used to hit as much and played carelessly ( freely ). But when we switched to 50 overs, we became cautious thinking we need to bat all 50 overs and hence start playing like a morons. Truth is that we rarely batted more than 30 overs and the score was usually half of waht we used to score in 25 overs match.
Too much of good is bad,mix some evil in it

Today I went to one clinic for attestation, I needed that to apply for my degree certificate. That doctor(70+) took only few mins to complete the process & refused to accept any fees. He was very simple, minimal talk & a nice smile.
