Functions and variable can be declared as static.

Can a class be declared as static?

For example given below

u should know what static means.

static makes a thing (function or varable) into real thing - or the thing is created in memory (an instance for var).

class is a concept or blueprint which can not be created in memory (its instance can).

Nope, but you can do like this:

} static_object_of_class_X; // The variable static_object_of_class_X will have static linkage.

writing a class means in defining the memory organisation of the type you are creating.

static class X { /*...*/ }; is as if you define a syte that is already static (which don't mean anything).

static means several things.
1st, static means that the life of the variable should be durind still the program is running. of course, its scope don't change, but the variable is not destroyed when the function it is in ends.
2nd, static means that the data member is defined once for all instances of an object.
3rd, static applied for function members means that the function may access only static data members.

Hello All!
I have some queries related to MFC PropertySheet and page. Please somebody provide me useful pointer or help towards this

#1 I want to know how to add custom Skin or Color to Dialog Box Title Bar

#2 How to get ID of BACK,NEXT and FINISH button in MFC Based Wizard (my custom) because I want to change default look of these button or rather say I want to add color to these button.

As you see i am Here talking about MFC not Win32 Api based project. Actually these are Default Button in Property Sheet Wizard,i want to apply custom Color to these button.

Adding Second Recordset in a MFC

Hey...

I have an MFC application where I have added the first recordset for the application.Now I face problem in adding second recordset for the MFC which means to create new class for retrieving the variables from other database table.I have tried to follow the MSDN links and tutorial on this but as I follow the steps,I faced problem in creating new class.For example I tried to create new class CSubjectSet but it return the error which states file SubjectSet.cpp and CSubjectSet.h does not exist.

Please help if you encountered this problem before or known the cause of this problem.

do not use CRecordSet which is the worst in the world.
u need to know how to use database driver (or MFC classes) to read/write data from/to database.

In my opnion, the best are Cdc... (a set of classes, i.e. CdbDatabase, CdbRecordset etc).
please note: second char is lower case: Cdb..., not CDb...
the head file and lib, dll files are available in VC 5.0 but i can not find them in VC 6.0.

according to Microsoft Docs, database issues of VB is based on these classes.

long way to go to really understand these classes, but you have to go if u really want to do some real things.

i want to add pop-up menu with multiple menu items to context help menu (related to right-click) of windows explorer.

see picture bellow, the pop-up menu is similar to menu SOCKShell on picture bellow.

Hi Micheal,
your sample is for files only: when i right-click a folder on windows explorer, the menu does not appear on shell menu.

i hope the pop-up menu can be applied to any folder, single file or multiple files and folders.

How to exit an application by hitting an exit button

I 've created a single document database application in VC++.The problem is that I can not make out how to make an "exit" button which when hit will close the application immediately(i.e,MainFrame will be closed).
