Press Releases

Welcome to the new Press Releases forum! Our old press release system has been retired but we've moved everything and everyone to a new, shinier home. Enjoy!

A press release must be written for the purpose of announcing something newsworthy. Advertisements, promotions, or anything smelling even vaguely of spam will be deleted. All press releases must be relevant to the development community.

Technical Webinars Will Explore Project Use Cases on Employing WSO2 BAM 2.0 to Optimize Supply Levels, Marketing Campaigns, Sales Discounts, and Hiring

Palo Alto, CA – December 12, 2012 – Business activity monitoring (BAM) provides near real-time visibility into the processes, transactions and workflows that are exposed as services within a service-oriented architecture (SOA). Increasingly, enterprises are deploying BAM solutions to enhance the relevance and delivery of information that affects their business operations. On December 18, 2012, WSO2 will kick off a new three-part webinar series designed to help architects, developers, and engineers in TechOps and DevOps to take full advantage of the benefits provided by the newest release of WSO2 Business Activity Monitor 2.0.

The webinar series will explore project use cases to highlight how organizations can use WSO2 BAM 2.0 to optimize supply levels, adjust marketing campaigns, offer sales discounts, and hire additional resources. Additionally, the sessions will examine the advanced features and capabilities of WSO2 BAM 2.0 and how they can increase operational visibility, situational awareness, and business performance. The three webinars are:
• Enterprise Use Case Webinar: Analyzing the Effectiveness of Mobile and Web Channels Using WSO2 BAM – Tuesday, December 18, 2012
• WSO2 Advantage Webinar: Scaling Up WSO2 BAM for Billions of Requests and Terabytes of Data – Thursday, December 20, 2012
• WSO2 Advantage Webinar: WSO2 BAM2 Integration with Mule ESB – Thursday, January 10, 2013

Each session will run from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time. To learn more and register, visit http://wso2.com/landing/wso2-bam-webinar-series.

Analyzing the Effectiveness of Mobile and Web Channels
Even as Web and mobile channels enable customers to engage in e-commerce transactions at any time, organizations struggle to understand how these channels affect sales, usage trends, and patterns. This webinar will explore how WSO2 BAM 2.0 can be used to capture mobile events, analyze mobile interaction patterns, and compare mobile campaign efficiency against traditional website traffic patterns. A real-world use case, an e-ticket booking service, will be used to demonstrate and analyze the mobile interaction patterns of WSO2 BAM. Jointly presenting the session will be Sinthuja Ragendran and Maninda Edirisooriya, WSO2 software engineers on the data technologies team. Scaling Up WSO2 BAM for Billions of Requests and Terabytes of Data
Big data adds complexity to operational monitoring, which requires IT organizations to implement a high-performance data capture framework to collect, filter and store enterprise business activity, as well as generate business insight. This webinar will examine how WSO2 BAM 2.0 handles high data volume scenarios. It also will explore how WSO2's scalable BAM architecture can capture high-throughput transaction data, process big data by scaling analytics, deliver rich visualizations, and achieve scalability through deployment patterns. Webinar presenter Buddhika Chamith is a WSO2 software engineer on the data technologies team. WSO2 BAM Integration with Mule ESB
By monitoring service endpoints, enterprise service bus (ESB) servers, and mediation flows, IT organizations can proactively identify system failures and enable error recovery before they interrupt business operations. This webinar will examine how to monitor an ESB server with WSO2 BAM 2.0, as well as demonstrate the monitoring capability available when integrated with Mule ESB. Key topics include:
• Monitoring an ESB server's system resources (CPU usage, memory consumption) through JMX.
• Monitoring the statistics of deployed services through JMX.
• Using a high-performance, low latency, non-blocking, multi-threaded API to publish events from Mule ESB to WSO2 BAM 2.0.
• Capturing useful data by inspecting payloads of messages going through Mule ESB.
• Analyzing the captured data and visualizing it in dashboards.
• Real-time monitoring using complex event processing (CEP).

Webinar presenter Kasun Weranga is a WSO2 software engineer and a member of the data technologies team. To learn more, visit http://wso2.org/library/webinars/2013/01/wso2-advantage-webinar-wso2-bam2-integration-mule-esb.
