Press Releases

Welcome to the new Press Releases forum! Our old press release system has been retired but we've moved everything and everyone to a new, shinier home. Enjoy!

A press release must be written for the purpose of announcing something newsworthy. Advertisements, promotions, or anything smelling even vaguely of spam will be deleted. All press releases must be relevant to the development community.

NewsWSO2 to Present Technical Webinar on Using the WSO2 App Factory to Optimize Application Development On-premise and in the Cloud Pin
Monday, November 19, 2012 9:58 AM by andrew.kinetic
WSO2 webinar on November 27, will examine how to rapidly create, develop and deploy applications to different lifecycle environments with a single click

Palo Alto, CA – November 19, 2012 – Whether on-premise or in the cloud, the rapidly growing number of applications generated today demands a managed approach for the application delivery process. However, traditional enterprise application development models struggle to accommodate high volumes while adhering to desired governance processes. As a result, IT teams often experience difficulty accessing server and application resources within development, test and production environments. To help IT professionals address this challenge, WSO2 will present a webinar that examines how to apply managed application development best practices using the WSO2 App Factory (currently in alpha).

The one-hour technical session, “Introducing the WSO2 App Factory – Platform for a Smooth App Development Process," is being held twice on Tuesday, November 27: 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. PDT for the Americas and 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. GMT for Europe and Asia-Pacific. Streamlining the Application Development Process

The webinar will begin with an introduction to the WSO2 App Factory (http://wso2.com/solutions/app-factory), including key features and core capabilities. Then the session will examine how it integrates with existing tools to provide a complete software development lifecycle (SDLC) tool chain, including source control, build management, and deployment. The webinar also will demonstrate the integrated developer experience of WSO2 middleware with WSO2 Developer Studio. Additionally, the session will discuss how the WSO2 App Factory:
· Supports managed application development.
· Can be customized to existing governance policies.
· Supports application development to public and private clouds.
· Integrates to existing infrastructure.
· Seamlessly engages with WSO2 Governance Registry.
· Can be used to develop any kind of application.
· Allows sharing of infrastructure among all applications.

The webinar will be presented by Dimuthu Leelarathne, WSO2 architect and co-chair of the WSO2 platform technologies management committee. Dimuthu focuses on cloud technologies, the WSO2 Carbon Framework, and WSO2 Identity Server. An expert in Java and Java-related technologies, she is an Apache Software Foundation (ASF) committer, serving as a Project Management Committee (PMC) member of Apache Axis2, where she played an initial role overlooking the deserialization process of the Axis-Mora project. Additionally, she has contributed to the Apache Rampart and WSS4J projects.
