Chris is the Co-founder, Administrator, Architect, Chief Editor and Shameless Hack who wrote and runs The Code Project. He's been programming since 1988 while pretending to be, in various guises, an astrophysicist, mathematician, physicist, hydrologist, geomorphologist, defence intelligence researcher and then, when all that got a bit rough on the nerves, a web developer. He is a Microsoft Visual C++ MVP both globally and for Canada locally.

His programming experience includes C/C++, C#, SQL, MFC, ASP, ASP.NET, and far, far too much FORTRAN. He has worked on PocketPCs, AIX mainframes, Sun workstations, and a CRAY YMP C90 behemoth but finds notebooks take up less desk space.

He dodges, he weaves, and he never gets enough sleep. He is kind to small animals.

Chris was born and bred in Australia but splits his time between Toronto and Melbourne, depending on the weather. For relaxation he is into road cycling, snowboarding, rock climbing, and storm chasing.

I direct The Code Project's business activities, such as strategic direction, partnerships, and vendor relations. I started photo-etching circuit boards when I was 8, and at 11 was haunting the halls and computer science labs at the local college so much that I was invited by Professor Wayne Ayott to audit his software and hardware design courses.

Over my career I have used C# , C++, Win32, MFC, Assembler, Basic, and Clipper, on applications for the military, commercial ventures, medical research and the labour movement. Through my medical informatics work I came to know what real-time and mission-critical really mean… just try being part of the critical path when a woman goes into labor. 

I have been honoured to receive many business, industry and leadership awards including being named an Exceptional Young Entrepreneur (Profit Magazine) and to the list of Who's Who in Canadian Business. The companies I started have been recognized as the Fastest Growing companies in Canada (Profit Magazine), as the Fastest Growing North American Technology Companies (Deloitte & Touché) and named as a Top 100 Innovator and Leader by SDTimes in every year from 2003 to 2008.

Here's my professional profile on LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/davidcunningham

In 2007 Microsoft acquired technology from one of my companies, Dundas Data Visualization, for inclusion in SQL Server 2008.

I live in Toronto and enjoy photography, scuba, food, riding my Honda Nighthawk motorcycle, and am trying to learn enough about wine to not be completely lost with a wine list in my hands. I find myself spending a lot of time these days thinking about the world our children will inherit, and so have been paying a lot of attention to alternative energy (wind, solar), robotics, education and (for the first time in my life) politics.

Elina joined the Code Project team as a software developer in order to make the site run even smoother than it is now. She will also take care of making wishes and promises on the site improvements come to the light sooner than later.

When not at work, she enjoys beeing with her family and wishes there will be at least 30 hours in a day Smile

Jeff has worked with personal computers since the late seventies, when he learned to program BASIC on an Apple II (not an Apple II Plus, mind you). Since then, he’s learned Pascal, Fortran and VB/VB.NET – all of which have been enough to show him that he’s not a born developer, but he can play one on TV, so to speak. He's working to make The Code Project even more valuable to community members and help bring new services online to make The Code Project even better.

Jeff has worked with developers and developer communities for over a decade.

All things considered, he'd rather be cycling.

After graduating from Ryerson University with a B.Sc. in Computer Science it quickly hit me that it had not prepared me for the 'real world'! Two years later I was finally taken aboard a small company called Northcloud. This was where I did most of my real learning.

Fast forward to April 2008 and I joined The Code Project! It's been great working here. Everyone's really nice, the environment is very casual and people truly care about making quality tools.

When I'm not developing for The Code Project I like to develop at home, play lots of sports, read computer or philosophy books and stare at walls.

Aimee joined the Code Project team in 2007 months ago after leaving a similar position up North. Aimee is the accountant at the Code Project, working under Sarah, and has recently taken on the role of Office Administrator. Her shoe collection at Code Project is legendary. Her prize piece is a set of slippers from La Senza that can be seen worn daily.

When not crunching numbers and raving about what a great boss she has, Aimee enjoys running, shopping and pretending to understand the confusing world of programmingSmile

I am in Sales and Marketing at the Code Project. I’m very excited about the future possibilities and hope to play a significant role in ensuring continued success for the site and its members.

When I'm not at work, I enjoy hanging out with friends, exploring the city, golf, yoga, and travelling as much as possible!

Deeksha got her Master's degree in Information Systems and learnt how to program in HTML, C++, SQL, Java and JavaScript. She has worked in the capacity of Systems Operator, Systems Administrator, and Project Manager during which she interacted a lot with professional programmers.

Editing articles written by smart and experienced programmers on The Code Project is a job she loves and it keeps her updated on the latest technologies.

She has lived in four countries in the last 10 years and has a flair for learning new languages (not the programming ones).
She enjoys playing with her 3-year old son, travelling and listening to music.

I joined The Code Project because I'm in total awe of The Code Project site, community, staff and exec team. They are some of the smartest people the industry has to offer (IMHO).

I come to The Code Project with years of software and advertising sales experience. My passions are my family, my mini-dachshund Rocco, promoting water-wise programs at local schools, and volunteering in my community.

I’m dedicated to serving The Code Project developer community for a very long time.

I am an eccentric genius, at least I tell everyone I am a genius to justify my eccentricity. I have been working with the developer community since 1997, when I started at FTP selling advertising space in Visual Basic Programmer’s Journal (I know, I know…but somebody has to do the dirty work so we can deliver all this great content to you).

After nine years of service at my former company I took a year off and started my own business (a Pilates studio) and realized that I absolutely never want to run my own business again….ever. Happily, I landed at The Code Project™ and hope to continue selling enough ads so that we can buy shiny new toys for the site (see server farm below).

Matthew works on improving the performance and experience of the Code Project site for users, clients, and administrators.

Matthew has more years of software develeopment, QA and architecture experience under his belt than he likes to admit. He gradutated for the University of Waterloo with a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering. He started out developing microprocessor based hardware and software including compilers and operating systems.
His current focus is on .NET web development including jQuery, Webforms, MVC, AJAX, and patterns and practices for creating better websites.
He is the author of the Munq IOC, the fastest ASP.NET focused IOC Container.
His non-programming passions include golf, pool, curling, reading and building stuff for the house.

After completing a BA Honours in Philosophy at the University of Ottawa, he decided to forego his initial goal of working his way up the lucrative metaphysical corporate ladder. He got his face out of the books and plunked firmly in front of a monitor.
His interest and experience in researching the web lured him into online marketing, where he started “thrashing about” with HTML. Mike acts as a fulcrum between the exploits of the marketing and technical sides respectively, to make sure that everyone is on the same site.

So how does a philosophy degree benefit what he does here at the Code Project? His answer would likely be “Let me ponder that indefinitely and get back to you with a logically sound, and completely non-committal answer,” which in reality is his answer to everything, although not in so many words.

When his body starts to go numb from sitting in front of a computer too long, he likes to play hockey.

Olga has worked with a variety of large industrial applications before joining The Code Project and is now thrilled to apply all that knowledge at the best company on her resume!

She loves to make the site safer, more robust and even more user friendly every day and gets to spend most of her day doing the only thing she loves most - developing.

When not developing, she's either out with her husband or at the gym.

I have worked for other developer Web site companies within the past nine years of my career in advertising sales, but Code Project is by far the best company I have come across. The community involvement with the product is absolutely fantastic. The staff is full of the most brilliant minds in the industry. I’m so happy to be part of the CodeProject! I’m based in NYC, so when I’m not working I can be spotted in central park with my adorable pug or shopping at the fabulous stores nearby.

I joined The Code Project team as the Finance Manager in July 2007 and absolutely love working here. Prior to coming to The Code Project I spent 4 years in the mutual fund industry and 2 years in the golf industry.

In my free time I play softball, golf and ski/snowboard. I live with my husband in East Gwillibury and on most summer weekends can be found at our cottage in Parry Sound either fishing, 4-wheeling or just lounging.

Sean Ewington is the Lead Technical Editor at CodeProject, but if you watch closely, you'll find him dabbling in other areas of the site.

His background in programming is primarily C++ and HTML, but has experience in other, "unsavoury" languages.

He loves movies, and is currently working on a theory that Gladiator is the best movie of his time (it is a work in progress).

The servers

The Code Project is hosted on 15 web servers running Windows 2003 R2. Each box has between 1 and 2 Gb RAM and runs standard hyperthreaded P4s. The web servers connect to 2 dual-proc, dual-core SQL servers running SQL 2005 and Win 2003. Networking is via dual gigabit NICs. We have 3 email servers, a couple of Active Directory servers, a big backup monstrosity, a handful of switches and about 10km of cabling. The server rack is warm to the touch.
