Equifax used the word “admin” as both password and username for a portal that contained sensitive information, according to a class action lawsuit filed in federal court in the Northern District of Georgia. There is nothing I can add to make this more absurd
I am in awe of their comedic skills.

For the record, when Equifax was hacked its IT dept was being headed by Susan Mauldin, someone who studied music compilation in school. Why did they hire Susan as opposed to the best person for the job? She was a diversity hire. Shortly after the exposure of the hack a lot of info about this came out but you may have trouble finding info on it today as someone or something began scrubbing her info from the internet because Equifax knew this would look really bad. It would look bad because it shows their priority was not on security but adhering to identify politics. It also would look bad because it might make it look like a woman can not handle that kind of job. We know that a properly educated and trained woman could do the job but a music student whether they are male or female is a poor choice for the role.
Equifax put politics ahead of security and millions paid the price. Just think about that the next time you read about, hear about or witness diversity hiring.
