When I look at the code that the Swagger front-end code generator creates for back-end API calls, I want to run away screaming.

If it's broke, write a new language.
It's like modern medicine. Don't fix the underlying problem (the skills of the people writing the software), fix the language. In some ways, that might ultimately work -- make the algorithms that write the programs so smart that a monkey could write the program. Oh wait, isn't that called "no-code"?
