There is a lot of confusing as to if you can actually use C# 8 if you aren't using .NET Core 3 or .NET Standard 2.1. Except for the features you want

Apparently, they work if you add the relevant types:
C# 8.0 and .NET Standard 2.0 - Doing Unsupported Things[^]
The only thing that won't work is default interface members. And the last I saw of that specification, it looked like a complete cluster- .
