Senior Test Analyst

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer

Summary:

The Senior Test Analyst will play a key role in the development and testing of magnify360’s behavioral targeting platform for online marketers. Working as part of a highly collaborative team, you will be responsible for leading a team of test analysts through the quality assurance activities of the software development lifecycle. Additionally, you will be a major contributor to internal Quality Assurance process improvement efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with Product Management in the high-level scoping of future product capabilities
• Help define work breakdown structures and time estimates for quality assurance activities
• Validate the testability of business requirements and software design
• Develop test strategies, test plans, test cases and checklists
• Define and implement test frameworks to improve efficiency of quality assurance efforts
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and performance testing using manual methods and testing tools
• Identify, log and track issues using defect tracking tools
• Manage test results, report test status, and assess release readiness
• Work with globally distributed development and support teams to resolve quality issues
• Provide leadership and mentoring to more junior testing resources
• Cross train team members on quality assurance processes
• Assist in departmental recruiting and mentoring activities

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• 5-7+ years hands-on software testing experience with 4+ years in web application testing
• Must have good English verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work effectively in globally distributed team structures
• Proven ability to lead teams of 2-3 more junior resources through all QA activities of the SDLC
• Solid understanding of software quality assurance principles and best practices
• Solid understanding of white box testing
• Solid understanding of SQL, test data generation, and data validation efforts
• Experience implementing QA best practices from the ground up
• Experience with one or more formal software development methodologies

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Prior testing experience in Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environments
• Prior testing experience with any of the following types of products: Behavioral Targeting,
• Multivariate Testing, Lead Generation, or Web Analytics
• Experience with the implementation and usage of automated test systems
• Experience with Performance, Stress and Load testing using automation tools
• Formal software test training or test certification

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields. Other fields acceptable as long as formal testing experience requirements are met.
