The reason you got down voted is you asked a programming question in the lounge. Please read the rules.

Not a programming issue. No different then the ever so popular lounge question "I am looking for a free...any recommendations?"
Wonder why I haven't been posting on CP as much these days.

Note I did not down vote you, just informing. I too have been down voted while looking for recommendations.

Bullshit. This is not a programming question. Downvoted.

He did not downvote the OP (as he stated later). He only explained to the OP why the post was getting voted down. So long as a few people think a post is a programming question, they vote it down. The internet allows people to bring their inner assholes out without any form of repercussion.

I know he didn't downvote the OP. I still think his mischaracterization warrants a downvote.

Well, it's relative. There are folks who feel even a question where someone asks for a library recommendation needs to be in a coding forum. So he's justified in what he stated.
Personally I wish we could discuss more technology/geeky stuff here on the Lounge. Right now it seems to be a club for retired old ladies to exchange jokes.

Yeah, it's gotten kind of boring.
you should try the soapbox. It's turned into the nasty joke lounge.

Way better than the endless US politics or GW that used to be around, otherwise I agree with you though.

Touche! By the way, I hope you got the email about bridge club being postponed till Thursday, and bingo now being held on Wednesday.

Btw, I would like to officially make a statement here that I do not down-vote forum posts anymore. And I am proud of it and like to make it known.

Well, I just wish more of the old-timer/regular members here would do the same.

Why? Voting a post down that deserves it is a service to everyone – including the poster, if they can take constructive criticism.

To me, it's the online equivalent of verbally abusing someone.

This is not a programming question. +5'd to compensate.

Yeah! 5 to you Sir.

I voted a 5, as well. It is not a programming question, and it's a perfectly valid one for this Forum. It's also a good question, since ADP is a major player in a market that interests all of us - the one that makes paychecks.

I wrote an interface for it back when DOS was God, but that was for internal use, and there was no Internet to use for sharing it. If you'd like to write one, I'm sure it would make for a popular article!

I may do that. I'm waiting for a call back from our ADP rep.
