Anyone know how to get gloss paint off of a puppy?

if its too much for a rag and turps/turpentine, I'd suggest a) 'clippers' b) dont let the puppy do any more painting
btw .. turps and a puppy's skin isnt going to be great either, so use as little as possible

Exposure to turpentine can occur via inhalation, ingestion, and skin absorption.
No adverse effects were noted in dogs exposed to 180 ppm for 3.5 hours/day for 8 days [ACGIH 1986, p. 615]; however, raising the concentration to 818 ppm and exposing the dogs for 3.5 to 4.5 hours caused nausea, incoordination, mild paralysis, and weakness [Clayton and Clayton 1981, p. 3245].

thats why I did suggest as little exposure as possible (via a rag, rather than dunking said puppy in a bucket of turps)
.. I also assumed 'gloss'=='oil based', which hopefully is a false assumption

yes, thats why I suggested 'clippers' .. quicker, easier, the mutt will grow hair quickly (unless its one of those revolting bald species - then its fvcked !!!)

Your the one that will be with the dog when people see it, so you will have to deal with the questions people ask about how the dog got that way. The dog will probably never notice.

Most paints now a days are water base so warm water and a little soap should do it.

If it is oil based (I assume this otherwise a hose would do the job) use baby oil, lots of baby oil it dilutes the paint and won't kill the poor little bugger. Massage it into the fur in large volumes, give it a few minutes to go to work and then warm soapy water, use a disposable tub, NOT your bath!

Oh no, I've accidentally painted my dog...better go ask for help on a programming website!
(But good luck with that, I'd say trimming the hair is probably the fastest and easiest way, I've done it with cats before.)

Gasoline and a cigarette lighter.
A # 1 buzz cut.
Patience if the decorated area is small.

Rub vegetable oil into the paint, then wash the lot out with soap and water - it will disolve the paint and is much less harsh than turps or white spirit - it's the only thing I use to clean my hands after painting
