If that's the case I've just won a fiver. We were having a bet to see who would get arrested in the great paedo witch hunt of 2012. Anyone who was even just a little bit jazzy in the 70s is fair game. If I were any member of Slade or Wizzard I'd consider leaving the country.

I'm having a hard time categorizing accusations by 200 people as a 'witch hunt'.
The term that comes to mind is 'about freakin' time'.

It's more about how it's a tabloid frenzy field day - you must have seen how the accusations have been banded about. Lord McAlpine for example, and how even previously clean cut presenters like Philip Schofield have grabbed a pitch fork and flaming torch and joined in the fun.

Still, I find myself somewhat indifferent when it comes to people who where 'jazzy in the 70's' being persecuted.

Lord McAlpine was named in publications 15 years ago. And not just the incident that everyone is now backing away from. He didn't bother suing back then, presumably not wanting to draw attention to things. That is no longer possible, Twitter now names everyone that mainstream is going to pains to avoid naming.
There have been plenty of people with plenty of targets for a long, long time, but unable to find anyone large and legitimate enough with the balls to go public, or without enough evidence.
The climate has changed in the last couple of months and so those that have been waiting for so long are going to take their chance when they can.

Considering Slade's guitarist used to live next door to an all girls school, he must be bricking it. I am not alleging anything here - just stating that he lived next door to a school, and as far as I know, is entirely innocent. I have heard no allegations to the contrary, and am making no allegations.
