Hi All,
I have success, finally I can read 10000 from the Smart Card on the units I am working on at the moment!!!! I know to you it sounds trival just send the read command get the response. However the way the comms work you get a reversed, mangled, translated version of it. Working throught the old opl code gave me a headache so I asked several stupid questions in Q&A got responces to my questions, but I wasn't asking the right question, the actual act of writing the questions I asked put me onto the solution. So Thanks to all who tried to understand my poorly phrased questions but it got me thinking the right way sorry for the wasted time!

ahh! You're reading a smart card. That explains it. Were you reading it through a serial port?
FYI I found an interesting project on reading smart cards with C#: A Smart Card Framework for .NET[^]

Morning! (in the UK it is!)
Ummm well I am reading the device which contains the smart card via a USB to serial interface. Part of the issue is I can't read or write directly to the card I have to go via this 'device' (here after refered to as 'darn thing') with very little documentation and a PSION remember them! I can read, now for write! apply and stand back!
