Can anyone tell me why Nathan Sharpe was sent off in the Australia v Wales game? I watched the game and was picking up my scotch (hiccup) at the time but missed that bit.

For lying on the tackled player and not making an effort to roll off. The ref and linesmen didn't seem to care that the tackled player had hold of him and the Welsh player standing had a foot on him. Made it a bit hard to get off.
Michael Martin Australia "I controlled my laughter and simple said "No,I am very busy,so I can't write any code for you". The moment they heard this all the smiling face turned into a sad looking face and one of them farted. So I had to leave the place as soon as possible."- Mr.Prakash One Fine Saturday. 24/04/2004

My wife cancelled my sky (satellite) subscription last year as it was hardly used - we never watched movies - she hates sport (didn't matter that I love sport).
Tobe honest, never missed it until last week - I used to watch NFL every Sunday night. Now I am stuck with watching a FLASH object on NFL.COM.
Are there any free? internet radio stations out there that give any decent coverage?

Did you ever try to listen your.wife.com[^] ?
This station has some pros and contras. I'll try to list them just on the spot, but may be more experiences listners will add other points.
Pros: 1. No need (but definitely allowed) annual subscription. 2. Experienced user may order the program on almost any theme and almost at any time. 3. Possibility of the immediate feedback ...
Contras: 1. Hard or impossible to switch off when in transmission. 2. Volume and timbre are changing themselves in unpredictable manner. 3. Has tendency to spontaneous switching on in the most unsuitable moment ...

I've received almost no spam today - and Sunday is usually the worst day of the week...is it a coincidence or is something working at last?

I experienced some weird things with XP:
- I mounted a SATA II drive on my computer - sometimes, when the system is busy I receive a message like "hardware problem" - opening "My Computer" the partitions on the SATA drive are missing - restarting the computer solves the problem
What can be the cause and/or the solution?

Either that, or perhaps some of the motherboard drivers will need to be updated. I had a similar problem with having a 250GB 7000RPM IDE drive on a machine running at 633Mhz (Flip chip Celeron, the board was a Tri-somethignrather Congac ++... an OEM eMachines board)..
But that was four years ago, so i can't guarantee that he's got the same problem, but it shouldn't hurt to update...

Replace the SATA cable. The cabling is one of the things that is most overlooked and cheapest to replace. If you still get faults with a different cable, then look at the hard drive itself.

I've been using SATA since it came out and I have gone through probably 12-18 failed cables for 10 drives including work and home. I've started buying some of the cables with steel clips on the end. This seems to cause less breakage from even gravity (some of those cables were not pushed but broke over time from their own weight -- cheap things). And the new cables seem to make a faster and easier connection.
long story short, I hate SATA cables, but otherwise love my SATA drives.

IIRC one of the revisions to the sata spec had to do with fixing design problems with the cable connectors. Are the clips the official fixed version or an independent effort?

I am not sure, but I believe independant effort. Just a cable company recognizing problems.
