I was just commenting on the quality of the photos on a news website, but thanks. You see, I've been looking for a Flickr alternative for some time. With a free Flickr account, you are limited to 200 photos

Does anyone know if the newer touch interfaces allow you to use multiple mice on a system instead of your fingers?
Just thinking about how cool that would be.

You mean two mice and two pedals?

Anything... pens, mice...
I am just thinking about how cool some usability things could be with multiple mice on the screen.

Why do you even want to do this?
Sounds about as useful as using 2 keyboards

I just figured if the interface allowed you to use two (or more) fingers to manipulate things like images and interact with the UI then perhaps it would allow you to do it using mice.

I don't know about you, buy my 2-handed coordination is a lot less accurate than my 2-fingered coordination
Possibly because I totally suck at left-handed coordination and splitting my concentration between 2 hands makes that even worse

Agree. I'm relatively ambidextrous, but even so I never try and do anything requiring fine precision with my right hand.

For the ambidextrously unchallenged? Or maybe on Barsoom?

I always thought that would be great for games back when I was playing Unreal Tournament. To me it would have had a more natural feel to have two mice instead of a keybaord and mouse.

I was changing my desktop to a multi-monitor setup. I want 2 or 3 monitors, but I don't know about VGA support. My desktop has a on-board vga (GeForce 6100 nForce 405), so I don't know if I can use it as one of monitors.
My board has 2 PCI + PCI Express x16 + PCI Express x1.
I don't know if my on-board vga support it or if I will need purchase a PCI Express VGA to primary video and PCI vga to another monitors.
What vga you use in your Multi-monitor setup?

I have a 260GTX, I just plug in 2 monitors and it's done.

Hmmm, never tried to use the on-board as part of a dual (or more) monitor setup before... I wonder if it stays enabled once a new video card is connected.
I run 4 monitors and have always purchased dual head cards for my setups. I have used 2 PCI GeForce FX 5500 cards before and now I use 2 EVGA GeForce 8800 GT PCIe cards.

Sometimes you can sometimes you can not. It depends on whether the BIOS disables the onboard card or not when you add the new card.

In addition to what the BIOS may/not allow if you're running vista all your cards need to use the same driver to enable aero. IIRC the 6000 series is the oldest currently in the unified drivers, so if doing 3 monitors you'd need to replace it before too long anyway. AFAIK there aren't any consumer level cards that support 3+ monitors (as opposed to having 3 connectors). PCIe1x cards are very rare and expensive as well, which means your 3rd display will end up costing you a moderately marked up PCIcard ($50ish).
I run 2 monitors off a GTX260 at home and 2 off a Dell D series dock at work.

This morning, as champion of the innocent, brave, caffeine fuelled warrior for fellow developers, I rattled off an email to Michael Nesmith of InstallAware, and received the following response:
Thank you for your concern Brady, but we have a lot more history with these crooks than, of course, what their limited copy-paste shows.
I would encourage you to evaluate InstallAware on your own terms and sample our services if you are truly interested in the product. Otherwise, I hope you have enjoyed the freak show.
Unfortunately, these people have stolen our and our partner company IP's multiple times, and we will not dignify them with any kind of public response.
Thanks...

I hope you realise just how many sales this [1] has truly cost you. I have never come across such disgusting behaviour in thirteen years of developing or buying software.

Unfortunately for Michael this behavior does not seem to be limited to "these crooks" as he terms them.
Why is common sense not common?

Everything Nesmith says might be true (I really don't know), but they should never send those kinds of emails. Now they're going to be endlessly quoted, even if the emails are completely out of context. They could have said, "No, we won't do business with you". They achieved nothing by sending such nastygrams, and the emails will haunt them for years. Very poor judgment.
