They are not Amazing for sure (as the title says). Looks like they have been taken from a cellphone camera.
Rediff quality is bad and the comments on articles are worst. I no longer visit the site anyway.

Yes, it looks like every idiot in the country, and a few from the neighbouring ones, has decided to hang out on Rediff. On that note, got any decent alternatives to recommend? The lack of alternatives is so appalling, I've been using Google news as my news site!

The quality is poor, and bright purple background frame make it worst (at least for my taste)

Oh didn't you notice, analogous to square roots, they recently introduced rectangular, circular, and diamond roots to determine the size of the corresponding shapes when given the area. Luc Pattyn[^]

Maybe that 4yr old in the commercials took the photos and uploaded them from her little mac (or was it a PC?).

IMO a couple of them were pretty good. but most were nothing special.
i think the site just needs a photo editor. if you just saw one picture of a woman/child in the middle of the tulip field and the first shot with the tulips up-close and the cloudy mountains in the background, there'd be little to complain about. but so many of the same kind of shot (here's another person surrounded by tulips! here's the field from another angle!) dilutes the effect. sometimes less is more.
IMO, of course.

I wouldn't hesitate to put them up, Vikram. Keep the size small - maybe a tad smaller than they are now, and go ahead. For most website purposes, 72 dpi is plenty, though I prefer to use 100 dpi. The ones you've posted here get pixelated when magnified, but in their normal size they convey the message well enough. If you're posting them to a professional photography site, don't. But for general use, they're fine.

There are plenty of really excellent and free photo sites available, for example:
flickr, there are limitations I believe in number of uploads but flickr is commonly used www.flickr.com[^]
fotonauts, started by an ex Apple guy, still in beta. has a desktop gadget as well http://www.fotonauts.com/[^]
panoramio, if your photos are selected they appear on google maps http://www.panoramio.com/[^]

I was just commenting on the quality of the photos on a news website, but thanks. You see, I've been looking for a Flickr alternative for some time. With a free Flickr account, you are limited to 200 photos

Does anyone know if the newer touch interfaces allow you to use multiple mice on a system instead of your fingers?
Just thinking about how cool that would be.

Anything... pens, mice...
I am just thinking about how cool some usability things could be with multiple mice on the screen.

Why do you even want to do this?
Sounds about as useful as using 2 keyboards

I just figured if the interface allowed you to use two (or more) fingers to manipulate things like images and interact with the UI then perhaps it would allow you to do it using mice.

I don't know about you, buy my 2-handed coordination is a lot less accurate than my 2-fingered coordination
Possibly because I totally suck at left-handed coordination and splitting my concentration between 2 hands makes that even worse

Agree. I'm relatively ambidextrous, but even so I never try and do anything requiring fine precision with my right hand.
Today's lesson is brought to you by the word "niggardly". Remember kids, don't attribute to racism what can be explained by Scandinavian language roots.

I always thought that would be great for games back when I was playing Unreal Tournament. To me it would have had a more natural feel to have two mice instead of a keybaord and mouse.

I was changing my desktop to a multi-monitor setup. I want 2 or 3 monitors, but I don't know about VGA support. My desktop has a on-board vga (GeForce 6100 nForce 405), so I don't know if I can use it as one of monitors.
My board has 2 PCI + PCI Express x16 + PCI Express x1.
I don't know if my on-board vga support it or if I will need purchase a PCI Express VGA to primary video and PCI vga to another monitors.
What vga you use in your Multi-monitor setup?
