Welcome to the Lounge

For lazing about and discussing anything in a software developer's life that takes your fancy except programming questions.

Technical discussions are encouraged, but click here to ask your programming question.

The Lounge is rated PG. If you're about to post something you wouldn't want your kid sister to read then don't post it. No flame wars, no abusive conduct, no programming questions and please don't post ads.

You make valid arguments so I will concede all your points except:

No doubt LightSwitch will produce standard run of the mill applications, but my
clients always want something custom that doesn't come out of the box.

Please see:

using Silverlight Custom Controls you can deliver the exact UI you need.

LightSwitch uses MVVM / EF / WCF RIA Services / MEF the only difference is that it is a tool to create code so you don't have to do it all by hand. I can build an incrediable house if I use a hammer or a nail gun.

This is not Microsoft Access, this is SQL Server and normal .Net code and normal Silverlight Controls.
