I was going to post something similar, in reply.

I'm fortunate in that my boss does have a sense of humor. His boss, however, does not.

Of course. It's the most conclusive way to test.

Testing code is a silly idea; it's costly, time-consuming and boring. Why would you do that when you can get users to test it and pay you for the privilege?

I was watching a random episode of Top Gear.
The Noble M600 hit 330 Km/hour.
That is *bleep* fast!!

Not a lot of roads you could use it on though

Oh I don't know. Given the way the bampots and pishheads drive round the Central Motorway with their fat exhaust Citroen Saxo's, you'd think there were plenty of suitable roads.

India was similar to the Bolivia one, ended up looking staged. The scenario never took off.
Now, compare that to Botswana, the trip through Hicksville (US), the Winter Olympics etc., in those ones the scenario took on a life of its own and bam you had a great spectacle.

I take it that you didn't see the episode in which James May drives a Veyron in a closed VW test track? 407. KPH.
"Real men drive manual transmission" - Rajesh.

407!!? Must watch this one soon.

It's series 9, episode 2.
"Real men drive manual transmission" - Rajesh.

Yes, incredibly impressive.
Another good episode involving the Veyron is the race from northern Italy to London.
The real question, though, is how can I get a job like that?

Yeah, I'd like to know the answer to that question too.

The high speed trains in China (and many other places) cruise at speed above 300km/h. But given sufficient space around it, it doesn't feel that fast when you are sitting inside. You kind of get used to it.

Hey, all. If you're comfortable doing it (or even just a bit uncomfortable -- somewhere between a vague itch and chafing, but not more than that), I've got a speaker proposal with a friend in for the South by Southwest Interactive conference next year ... and I'd love your votes on it. Just got word that the deadline's tonight, 11:59 PM US Central Time.
Here’s the link: http://panelpicker.sxsw.com/vote/1045
You have to log in, yes, but I don't think it's particularly spammy. Thanks in advance; I'm sure it will get you some karma points, at least with me. You'll have to bargain with Chris for reputation points.
thanks!

If we vote is there any chance of a shout out during the presentation?

Collectively or individually? Sure, I'm up for it.

Individually would be difficult I'm sure, though hearing someone say wizardzz on stage would be funny (the zz's create a lisp.)

Collectively then. Although it would be amusing to do the entire shout-out in a lisp, the audience (potential) might not be as amused as we would be.

Hahaha, I have to remember that. Voted .

I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We've created life in our own image.
