I saw you said the vendor was from England, but then this line "Partly because I forgot my clippers at Neil's" is not something I would expect anyone from the UK to be writing.
"I left my clippers at", but not "I forgot my clippers" like that.

Actually, it looks like the vendor is from England. So I would venture a guess that the employee (former or otherwise) is from there as well. How many people running around in lederhosen over there?
