Because the last check we got from your parents bounced.

I got out of work early and drove to the butchers el pronto.
Managed to get Venison Steaks, Quails, Duck Breasts and a couple of pound of Game Mix (Venison, partridge, pigeon, pheasant and duck).
I have had a long hard think, and decided that tonight will be a game casserole with saffron roast potatoes, fine beans and al dente broccoli.
(The recipe says to use some 'leftover' red wine, but I do not know this term so have open a bottle of valpolicella, the first glass of which is sliding down my throat as I type).
My wife is due in at about 6.30 tonight, and will be moderately pleased.
