Just proves that if you give a man a dick, erm, stick he'll use it. In this case an electric one.

They said they were sorry. This is the advantage of the British Police over, for example, the US police.

Taser someone mistakenly and you can express sorrow and regret and they can be pissed off about it.

In the US they would have shot him for failing to stop when commanded and then planted a gun on him so no further questions or apologies would be necessary.

Mr Farmer was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.

More likely: (Taser) discharged, taken to the hospital and then released D'Oh! |

Manke argued on appeal that Wisconsin's speeding statutes violate his right to religious freedom because they prohibit a "person" from speeding. He contended his Bible studies show he is a "man," not a person.
GeneralRe: I'm not a 'person'memberlewax0017 Oct '12 - 5:38
Luckily the court seems better versed in basic logic than he is. Every man is a person, he is a man, therefore he is a person. D'Oh! |
GeneralRe: I'm not a 'person'memberwizardzz17 Oct '12 - 5:40
Apparently the bible is not object oriented.
GeneralRe: I'm not a 'person'memberMarcus Kramer17 Oct '12 - 5:42
That would require some semblance of logic.
I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

What about slaves? A slave isn't a person as it is seen as an object. Slaves can be male, too. Perhaps he is a slave or likes to be one. Can you force him to be a person?

Or gods? Are gods persons? But for sure they can be man or woman (like Wotan or Thor, Zeus or Hera).

That depends on your definition of person I guess. General definition would be a human being, but the legal definition might not include slaves (which is relevant here, as this is a legal case). However, on that line of reasoning, slavery is not legal in the jurisdiction of that court, therefore he cannot be one to the court, so your argument is inapplicable.

You're assuming too much, I never said all males are men (easy example: a male cat is not a man). They can be male or female (maybe, it might be more accurate to call them masculine and feminine, our sexes may not apply to them), but that does not make them man or woman. My understanding of "man" and "woman" is that they are terms for adult humans.

The story is in the US and there are no slaves in the US.

When a god gets a speeding ticket in Chicago then he/she/it can contest it at that time.

Same would apply to extraterrestials, ghosts, intelligent earth species besides humans, etc.

Sounds more like a dumb attempt at getting out of a speeding ticket. I have a hard time believing the guy actually believed what he was saying.
