He didn't win, but CPian, Chris Quinn came third overall. I'm sure he'll admit that his specialist subject score wasn't perhaps as good as he would have liked it to be, but what a stonkingly-good round he had on general knowledge, out-gunning the other three contestants.
So, bad luck Chris but congratulations all the same.
Edit: Chris, if you have the time could you explain how the Mastermind experience plays out? For example, from the time you applied to be on it, how it was managed by the BBC and what happens when you go to the studio and how long it takes to get broadcast on TV and what they brief you about on the big day, how they look after you, etc, etc. Mastermind is such an institution that I and perhaps others would like to know about it from someone who has been at the proverbial coalface.
