Indeed, congratulations especially to all those who made it for the first time.

A friend of mine has expressed dismay at his lack of a passion in his life. Something that he has seen in others that keeps them motivated from day to day. I already gave him a bunch of ideas for things to try, but I'm curious what you all do that excites you (e.g., writing, kayaking, genetically engineering dragons)?
Note: "programming" and "family" are the obvious answers, so those are not allowed.

Volunteer firefighting (real busy day coming tomorrow). I have a specialist communications role (two, actually) and the whole thing is mentally challenging and rewarding (if you don't totally stuff up!) A great mob to work with, then relax at the end of a hard day.
Cheers,
Peter
