Any good reason I should or shouldn't use version 1.x or 2.x? The comparisons page showed me lots of differences but Sunday morning probably wasn't the best time to try and get the brain working.

not actually using, that's only because my work b/berry has a password safe on it. I'd use V2 Keypass, since it will run on anything I have (>= .NET 2.0), and I may be able to sync it with iphone version
it also doesnt seem to have any flaws in encryption/methodology, unlike my b/berry [/edit]
I've been using KeePass for years, and I've also contributed to the 1.x version, so perhaps I'm a little biased. Currently I use the 2.x version, and that's the one I'd recommend as well, though either one would probably work for you. Give 'em both a try and see which you might prefer.
