Welcome to the Lounge

For lazing about and discussing anything in a software developer's life that takes your fancy except programming questions.

Technical discussions are encouraged, but click here to ask your programming question.

The Lounge is rated PG. If you're about to post something you wouldn't want your kid sister to read then don't post it. No flame wars, no abusive conduct, no programming questions and please don't post ads.

"Hi welcome to McOrgans, can I take your order?"

"Uhhh yeah I will take a liter of rum and one liver to go"

Seriously though... This could be insane. While most of the people living today will still die off as it will take decades to perfect this things and the actual transplant, I wonder what the implications for the next few generations are. The life expectancy of people will likely triple as the only thing we will likely struggle with is the human brain.
We can already transplant essentially every organ and it is only a matter of time until that process is fully automated reducing the cost and complications of it. With 3D printing tech the supply is no longer limited to available hearts, lungs etc. but stem cells.

Interesting future ahead of us. But the domino effect is hard to comprehend. Its not like this planet is not already overpopulated and headed for a global disaster or anything Roll eyes |
Computers have been intelligent for a long time now. It just so happens that the program writers are about as effective as a room full of monkeys trying to crank out a copy of Hamlet.
