I popped into the local[^] or a small glass at lunch time on the way back from my parents. Sounds good?
 
I met three brothers, the middle I went to school with, who I have known for ever and a day. Set up for a damned fine drink?
 
"Hello my fine chaps." says I, "'tis a while since we met. How are you all?"
"Dad's dead."
 
Umm.
 
Eldest lives in Luxembourg, middle about 20 miles away and youngest in the village - so it was a bit surprising to meet them together. We shall reconvene in a week's time at the funeral and the wake, but today was not nice.
