Hm. You are normally disabused of that notion the first time you don't get cards, and flowers for the lady in your life, even if you have already married her.

In my country this day is really special because we have two celebrations in one day.
One is Valentine’s Day, and the other (the more respected and ascent holiday) is saint Trifon, also known as Trifon Zarezan. Bulgarians celebrate wine, vine-growers and wine-makers.
So we have a choice. You could spend “quality time” with your lady, or you could just get dirt drunk.
Most of us are trying to do both.
