JokeBorland / Inspire Vs MS .NET PinprofessionalglennPattonWork2-Jan-14 23:02
Hi All,

I spent the Hols installing software on a new PC I have got while doing this I had to search out old boxes, books etc. for Keys and the like. I came across a complete un-used Borland Builder C++ book looked through it for old times sake (ahh.. nostalgia!) and found a section on Serial Port communication and started to read it. The view was while no native means of comms is included this is how to get it working while a component is not included. I remember hearing from some where that Borland (or whatever they were called at the time) lost a lot of there main coders to Microsoft (due to a legal action). Could that be why the serial port was left off .NET 1, only to back in Net 2.0 and on are we using a Borland derived product on reverse engineered Alien Technology (or have I spent the hols watching too many dodgy documentaries "it's a conspiracy, I tell you")...
Makes you think...
