Before going to france I had brought a Laptop so that I don't get bored while i am not at office (weekends or after office) and to communicate with my family back home.
After I came back from france, I had this usual problem, 2 computers, i.e. one desktop and a laptop, but one internet connection.
I could have easily take another internet connection for my laptop but I thought, that will defeat the purpose of having a laptop, i.e. stuck to the place where the network cable ends.
So I thought of implementing homenetwork using wifi. I brought a netgear wifi pci card for my desktop. Now the desktop acts as a wifi router in ad-hoc setup.
I could have brought a wifi router instead, but my ISP needs a dialer software that can only work on windows based machine. So router was not an option plus a wifi pci card is much cheaper than a wifi router.
After a few hrs of setting up, Now things are working absolutly fine. I can use the laptop anywhere in and around my house. With remode desktop connectivity of windows XP, I don't have to be close to my dekstop to get anything done on it (except if someone is using the desktop at the same time). The only problem is that I have to boot my desktop also, but it is ok so far.

With Adobe getting fatty everyday, I think FoxIT is the good choice of PDF reader. It is elegant and a very small download against Adobe PDF reader which is now about 18 MB in size.
