Great Tom, I was just checking out the new site that you have up now. I have thought about doing a book before, it sounds like an interesting idea actually. I will have to stay in contact with you regarding this. Time is a major issue for me right now, but as soon as graduation rolls around this May I would love to delve deeper into the possibilities of a book. Smile | :)

Speaking of books...

Just finished reading "Extending MFC Applications with the .NET Framework". It rocks - i feel much more confident moving our old app to .NET now. I'm curious though - the first chapter covers a good many pitfalls to avoid when beginning to write mixed-mode code, but what about existing code? Libraries ported through three successive versions of MFC, crumbling COM wrappers, the piles of cruft that accumulate underneath the duct tape holding a large, aging app together? And now with a shiny new .NET front-end... What would i do well to watch for when the lightening strikes, and this monster tries to fight its way off the table?

But in the end, it's all just database access right? And that stuff is just plain boring.

Hmm. I never even saw this message. Sorry about that and thanks for the props!

You might be interested to know that I'll be updating Chapter 1 in the form of an article for MSDN Online. It should be done next week. Can't make any promises on how long editing will take as I've never been through that with MSDN. However, I'll keep you posted if you like.
