I need some steps to follow to:

1.Link a microsoft access database to asp.net
2.Write some line of code to make it run and open another page on a button click.

According to my perception

1.Link a microsoft access database to asp.net

you need a connection string to connect to database ..

string constring= "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\projects\data\thetre.mdb;User Id=admin;Password=;";
OleDbConnection mycon= new OleDbConnection(constring);

2.Write some line of code to make it run and open another page on a button click.

Please clarify "to make it run"....

Do you want to fetch records by a sql ?
if yes try this function:

You need to use 2 namespaces :

using System.Data;
using System.Data.OleDb;

public DataTable fetch_data(string sql)
{
string constring= ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["con"];
OleDbConnection mycon= new OleDbConnection(constring);
OleDbDataAdapter dap= new OleDbDataAdapter (sql, mycon);
DataSet stds= new DataSet();
dap.Fill(stds);
DataTable dt=stds.Tables[0];
mycon.Close();
return dt;
}

On button_click event

write this code : Response.Redirect("Page2.aspx");

hi

i have problem for which i have been struggling fro last two days
i hope u can slove this

consider a scenario

1> user login using his userid and password
2> he get his required page
3> user copy the url
4> user logout
5> he paste the url
6> he is getting page without any validations

i am using formsauthetication.signout
session.abdoan
session.clear

i have written validation code on page_init event
which does not fire
when u copy and paste url

i think i am able to explain my problem

please help me its urgent

a very simple solution may be

1. create a session let say, user
2. when you are checking the username and password from database and if you find the record,
Assign value of userid to the session
3. On each restricted page or on the master page place this code:

if(Session["user"].ToString() == "")
{
Response.Redirect("default.aspx");
}

4. On logout assign blank to this session and remove it...

Hopefully it will solve your problem.

I think it may help u.
write the below code in default page in pageload

Session.Remove(Session.SessionID);
FormsAuthentication.SignOut();
Context.User = null;
Response.Redirect("./.../Login.aspx");

definitely it will help u...already i checked this...

Hi there

I am ready to throw my inhibitions overboard and dive into the 2.0 version of Asp.Net.
I've got VS2005 installed, along with MSSQL2005 but I keep bumping into things that are done in another way or just isn't working like it used to.

Can anyone point me to books or online tutorials that are especially built for someone like me, who is intimate with the workings of ASP.NET 1.1 - but not with 2.0...?

Hi,
I have a datalist & in that i have created a LinkButton & named its Command Name to "Modify". Its working perfect with the databinding but as i click this linkbutton ( or Bubble Event) it does nothing.
This Datalist is placed in Web User Control File(.ascx) ..

I want to use Atlas Controls in my web project . but my project is an ASP.NET web site project ,not an Atlas WebSite Project. Now,when I add atlas tool kit refrences to my project an error accures means compiler can not recegnize the '< atlas:ScriptManager>' tag! how can I fix it ?

I've one image control which displays banner for a shop.
On ImageButton- 'Remove Banner', I want to remove that banner image from that image control and from server.

But I think you've not understood my question.
I want to delete image file which I've uploaded on server.
Just I'm using imageButton. I don't want to remove image of imageButton.

This will delete the file physically from the server...

ok, when you are upload file to the server your should define the any specific map path and then check if exist then delete otherwise leave it.

anything in .NET is a solution! a solution contains one or more projects such as web project,win project, class library project etc. if you lose .sln file you can easily make a blank solution and add your existing projects to it !

I want to open Excel file on my local computer .
File is located on server's drive for eg.D\Project\Test.xls

How can i open this file on clients computer in Asp.Net.

I try this Code
